2018 El Norte
24% Monastrell | 20% Syrah | 16% Garnacha | 14% Graciano | 11% Petite Sirah | 11% Counoise | 4% Vranac
A rare, Monastrell heavy version of El Norte. Mostly fermented and aged for 22 months in a large concrete tank with only a couple of barrels joining this expedition. Monastrell seems to bring a meaty/animal quality to the equation without the associated weight or grip. A sort of "float like a butterfly..." situation. Wraps up the discussion with tart, dark red cherry & slightly singed citrus. Would work mighty nice with some mushroom magic or carnitas circumstance.
