2016 Toscano

Toscano has been evolving over the last few years with Cabernet Franc emerging as the star of the show. We've enjoyed watching this wine's transformation. The 2016 is a blend of 44% Cabernet Franc, 36% Sangiovese, 8% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Aglianico & 6% Petit Verdot. All of the fruit coming from our Cimarron Vineyard in Willcox, Arizona. This wine spends 24 months in new and used French oak barrels of various sizes before bottling without fining or filtering. While we are quite enamored with this wine, our thoughts are obviously biased - with that in mind, we offer critic James Suckling's take on the 2016 Toscano which he tagged with 92 points in October: "Distinctive nose of crushed berries and dark cherries with a full body and mouth-pleasing fruit, carried by bright acidity through to the finish. Unusual blend of sangiovese, aglianico, cabernet franc, cabernet sauvignon and petit verdot."
