2014 El Norte
Mixing it up in 2014, this vintage of El Norte is mostly Monastrell with Grenache & friends playing supporting roles. Fermented and aged in large oak barrels for 24 months. Splashed into the glass, spicy cherry cola smells waft out… followed by a rocky hiking trail sort of nasal vibe. Transferred from glass to mouth, a deceptive freshness belies deeper impressions of dried citrus peel, sticky asian plum & tongue on 9 volt battery.
