Now let's talk about some great wine we can share with you in the not-even-distant future: #MethodeCanpenoise. At the beginning of harvest 2015, we picked riesling, grenache and tempranillo to start the base wine for a non-vintage méthode champenoise style wine (champagne style, carbonated by fermentation in the bottle). We liked what we tasted in barrel and harvested more in 2016 to make even more base wine. We experimented throughout 2016 with carbonation of this wine through fermentation and also liked what we tasted. We've taken everything we learned force carbonating Pink and stuffing it into 500 ml cans and doubled down. We've had so much fun working on this project over the last couple of years and are super excited to finally have something to share after all this time: 1 liter cans of non-vintage, méthode champenoise style Arizona dry pink sparkling wine from our Cimarron Vineyard in Willcox - just in time to become everyone's favorite holiday party guest. (Obviously) meant for sharing, these giant magnum-cans hold more than a standard bottle of wine. They have not been disgorged, but careful pours will ensure all of the yeast stays in the can and all of the delicious fizzy stuff ends up in your glass.
For this first release, we only produced a few cans - quantities are super limited. While we've reserved a few of these for our local restaurant & wine shop friends - we're offering the rest for pre-sale starting today... To make sure these find their way to as many holiday goodtimes as possible, we are limiting folks to 3 cans on a first come, first served basis. These will be available for pickup at the winery in Sonoita starting November 4th & will start shipping the following Monday.
